When enemy troops are dug-in, Krevarian commanders typically call upon the Chemical Corps and their terrifying Crocodile light tanks to flush them out.
The AL.31(CC) light tank began as a heavy modification of the Ammit chassis, with the intent to use its excellent suspension as the basis of a fast flanking vehicle. Planned armament included a long-barreled gyroc cannon, with a trio of lighter rapid-fire weapons to supplement the main firepower. While this AL.30 light tank was not adopted by most Krevarian forces, the vehicle was promising and an upgraded and modified version was brought into service with the Krevarian Chemical Corps as the AL.31(CC) Crocodile. The updated tank sports a new suspension and integral pump system for use with armored fuel/chemical trailers.
Most common among the Chem Corps, the base version of the Crocodile uses a large-scale flame cannon to clear trenches, bunkers, and buildings of enemy infantry. In a pinch, the flamethrower can be used against enemy armor – suffocating engines or hoping that the burning fuel seeps inside the crew compartment. This use is seen as a last resort, however.
Often called the Alligator by its crews, another common variant trades the flame cannon for a simpler high-pressure spray nozzle. Valued for battlefield fire control, some enterprising commanders have been known to fill the tanks with more dangerous substances than flame retardants.
The final major variant is colloquially known as the Caiman, and mounts a heavy fusion cannon in the turret. This weapon is designed to blast apart fortifications, but its short range makes it a dangerous tool to wield.
While the Dragoon corps did not officially adopt the original AL.30, some fortress-cities did, and it soldiers on admirably in a traditional light tank role. The gyroc cannon lacks the pure stopping power of the Kli-San’s heavier cannon, but boasts an improved fire rate.
