Francis I, the lauded King of France from 1515 to 1547 who continued the Italian Wars his predescessors. Though he was often at the forefront of the battles, fighting in full armor against his habsburg opponents, Francis also instituted a series of domestic policies which helped France prosper.
We have chosen to depict Francis as he might have appeared at the Battle of Pavia, where he was captured by Habsburg forces.
